Last winter, wildflowers were introduced by members to designated parts of Cork Golf Club and are now in full bloom as seen in the photos below. Golf courses by their nature are well-manicured seas of green. Introducing wild flower meadows on the golf course has added colour and contrast.

This contrast of the green grasses against the colour of flowers like the Poppies, Foxglove, Daisy, Cornflower and Nigella is quite spectacular and dramatically improves the look and feel of the golf course as well as adding to the enjoyment of all our members and visitors who play the course. It is also hoped that the introduction of wildflower areas will improve the habitat for pollinators such as bees and other insects. This in turn will assist other wildlife species such as birds and help to support as much wildlife as possible on our golf course.
