The May bank holiday weekend saw some fantastic golf played in Cork Golf Club by the Munster Stroke Play Championship players. Alan Fahy (Dun Laoghaire) won this years championships with an overall total of –6. In second place was Ryan Gribben (Warrenpoint) with –4, third Eanna Griffin (Waterford) with –4 and Robbie Cannon (Balbriggan) in fourth place with –3.

Robbie Cannon’s total included an 8 under new course record of 64. Last years South of Ireland winner James Sugrue (Mallow) took fifth position followed by Dylan Brophy (Castleknock), Irish Amateur Open Champion Peter O’Keeffe (Douglas) and Jack Pierse (Portmarnock).

The best nett was won by Jonathon Keane (Lahinch) with a score of 293. Alan Fahy also won the Carr-Bruen Trophy awarded to the best Under 25.
